Security Operations Decisions: 40 Scenario Questions

Build confidence in everyday security decisions with 40 original scenario questions from Cloudpuz Academy. This focused course contains two sets of 20 questions for learners who understand basic IT systems, networks and security terminology. The emphasis is on interpreting the situation, identifying the control that addresses it, and explaining the limitations of alternative responses.

The first set examines identity and operational controls. Topics include changes in job responsibilities, temporary privileged access, separation of duties, account recovery, service identities, vulnerability prioritization, emergency changes, monitoring and evidence protection. You will also consider practical uses and limitations of cryptographic controls.

The second set concentrates on incident response and recovery. You will work through containment decisions, credential exposure, evidence handling, recovery objectives, dependency planning, backup protection, network restrictions and lessons learned. The questions encourage you to distinguish an immediate action from a longer-term corrective measure.

Each question includes four answer choices and an explanation for every choice. Take a first attempt without notes, review all explanations, and record which assumptions caused mistakes. Use the second attempt to check your reasoning rather than memorize answer positions. Each set allows 35 minutes and uses an 80 percent practice passing score chosen for this learning activity.
